Fair Use For Teachers
Edtech 502 - Copyright Scavenger Hunt

This artifact is scavenger hunt activity. The intended learners of this scavenger hunt are educators. The purpose of this activity is to help teachers understand the regulations around using works created by other people. The scavenger hunt contains a downloadable worksheet, the activity guide with external links, and an answer key to check answers. This artifact guides the learners to three websites. While at each of these three websites, the teachers will answer questions related to using copyright materials in education.

Netiquette Rules
Edtech 502 - Netiquette

This artifact is a webpage. The webpage discusses the rules and regulations of our classroom blog. The page tells who the rules apply to, why we have the rules, and includes an offset table with key points to remember when participating in a blog.

The Copyright Scavenger Hunt teaches why there are copyright rules and regulations and how those rules effect how digital materials can be used in a classroom. The Netiquette page is designed as an overview of what rules and guidelines we will follow in our classroom blog. Having a common set of rules is helpful in creating and maintaining a positive environment.

I have referenced the Copyright Scavenger Hunt when coworkers ask me questions related to copyright and fair use. I distribute a revised version of the Netiquette page each fall. the revised version also includes a link to the classroom blog and a sample of interaction on a blog.
